Urban Scapes
Think European - act regionally to develop - Vienna is the motto of the Vienna Urban Development Plan, which has defined 13 target areas for new development. Urban development in Vienna focuses on building along efficient high capacity public transport routes. For example, the Aspern Lakeside City, a new "city in the city" planned to house over 20,000 people and many businesses, is being built directly on the U2 metro line extension. Vienna is also revitalizing its inner districts, for example it is creating an attractive new neighbourhood around the new main railway station.
