Smart Services for resource-optimised urban energy systems for districts (SmartServices)
To apply Smart City concepts in practice requires practice-oriented and profit-oriented business models (Smart Services) that generate also social and environmental benefits. In the SmartServices project such business models are developed and applied to concrete urban development areas in Vienna, Graz and Salzburg and reviewed in a comprehensive stakeholder process with the decision-making (public authority, developers, user groups, energy supply companies) for their practicality.
The Energy Center as one of the project partners has taken over tasks around the Viennese urban development area (Donaufeld), including in particular the organisation and discussion with stakeholders, as well as the lead of the work package on recommendations for policy and administration. The Optionenstudie Donaufeld, awarded by the energy planning department of the city of Vienna, will provide substantial input for the Viennese part of SmartServices.
