Port of Belgrade
As early as at the end of 2007, TINA Vienna won the public tender for the "Port of Belgrade - Pre-Feasibility Study and Conceptual Design of the new mechanized cargo port in Belgrade" project, which constituted a milestone in the relations between Vienna and Belgrade.
Within 10 months a pre-feasibility study on the construction of a new cargo port on the Danube in Belgrade was developed in a consortium with the Serbian consultant Ehting and the Viennese companies via donau, DonauConsult, Bluewaters, Snizek+Partner, Regional Consulting und Siegmar Hanser. The aspects examined by the study included the future location of the new cargo port for the Serbian capital and the economic, ecological and social conditions that are to be taken into account.
The project can be divided into three major stages:
- Economic and social examination of the necessity to construct a new port;
- Determination of the ideal port location taking account of its connection to the international and local transport network. The decision will be based on present and future transport flows both on the Danube and on rail and road and will also consider the development potential of the transhipment node;
- Development of the future port's conceptual design.
