The EU project Transform - Transformation Agenda For Low Carbon Cities focuses on the general conditions and necessary strategies for creating a smart city and for implementing it on an urban district level. The project partners worked on holistic strategies and transformation agendas for cities, which were implemented in smart urban labs in specific urban districts. Taking into account the legal, administrative, financial and cultural framework of each city, individual implementation plans were developed to support innovative impulses.
The project was financed by the 7th framework programme of the European Commission and was coordinated by the city of Amsterdam. Vienna was represented by TINA Vienna, Municipal Department 18 (Urban Development and Planning), the Austrian Insitute of Technology (AIT), Siemens Austria and the Austrian Institute for urban planning (ÖIR). The project was implemented between January 2013 and June 2015.
